Spirituality and Entrepreneurship

by Ernie on May 24, 2016

One of the trickiest things about being an entrepreneur is that we tend to focus almost entirely on our business or businesses.

Amid all that hustle, we forget to put time into some of the more important things in life.

Our Spiritual Journey

This post isn’t about religion. Rather, it’s about helping you find the core of what is missing in your life. If you’ve been down or discouraged, like many of us have been, just putting more time into your business may not be the answer. Sometimes we need to step away from the hustle and think about bigger pictures.

Whether you believe in a creator or not is a matter of personal preference. If you don’t, that doesn’t mean you can’t live a spiritual life.

There are lots of places and people who can teach you about spirituality if you just know where to look.

Find A Spiritual Mentor

Jesse Elder is someone who is an entrepreneur and a spiritual mentor to other entrepreneurs. He coaches people on how to meditate, and his teachings help people get to various outcomes.

If you’re a Christian entrepreneur, http://biblestudytopicsguide.com is a place where you can learn more about the Bible from a Seventh-Day Adventist pastor. While it doesn’t have an entrepreneurial spin, it certainly can be a helpful resource for any Christian entrepreneur out there to give perspective on the bigger picture.

Unplug

I know that I frequently feel the need to work more, faster, harder.

Truth is, when things aren’t going the way I want, I might need to just unplug for a little while.

It happens more than I’d like to admit. But there are days where I’m pressing so hard to get things done that I feel like I got nothing accomplished.

Contrast that with the days where I set smaller goals and made a little time to get away from work. Those days I felt much better and it seemed like I accomplished more.

Dean Koontz is a fiction author who used to work all the time. He’d spend ten hours a day or more writing his novels.

Then he got a dog and that pet forced him to take time away from his work.

As a result he became a happier person. It even helped his marriage.

The point of spirituality is to focus on the things that matter to you.

Find a way to get back to the important stuff in life and you will be much happier.

Why You Should Push Through Tough Spots

May 11, 2016

Success isn’t easy. Maybe that’s a cliche thing to say. One of my favorite ones is “If it was easy, everyone would do it.” Just because they’re stereotypical phrases doesn’t make them untrue. They’re well-known for a reason. Besides, if you want to be successful in any venture, it’s good to know what you’re getting […]

Just Do It

December 10, 2012

Fancy tagline used by a shoe company for years. But it’s more than that. It’s the single identifying factor that separates the entrepreneurs that succeed and those who don’t. Successful People I met the most interesting woman recently.  She had accomplished so much in her lifetime that it was staggering. I value your time so […]

Find 7 Things to Be Thankful For

November 20, 2012

Here in the United states, it’s the week of Thanksgiving.  Since that is the case, I thought I would do something a little different for the blog. No Customers = No Business

November 12, 2012

Look, I believe in giving great services or products away to people.  I think that’s the best way to get your business going.  After all, giving people a taste of what you offer is a great way to take the risk out of their minds. I know if I was presented with a product I […]
