How do you start a business is one of the most common questions we get from people looking to be an entrepreneur. While there really isnt one fixed route to go about it, but if you round it all down, all entrepreneurs and business only need 2 things: something to sell and people who want to buy.
The Entrepreneur Formula= ______ + Sales
(*insert what you are good at)
Take anything that you are are good at and if you can get people who want to buy what you are good at, you have a business. For example, if you are good at baking and people are willing to buy your bakes, open a bakery. If you are academically inclined and people want you to teach them, open a tuition center. If you are good at designing and people want to buy your designs, open an apparel shop. If you are good at photography, start a wedding photography business. If you like to travel, start a travel blog or travel site. If you are good at walking dogs, start a dog walking business in your neighbourhood. Most people complicate business when it actually only need these 2 things to sell. You’ll be surprised at how many things you are good at today that you can easily turn into a sellable product.
Watch any episode of Shark Tank and the sharks will tell you how important sales is.
And the best thing about this simple formula is that the success of your business is the cumulation of these 2 factors, which means that you don’t necessarily need to be the best at what you do, if you are good at selling. Now this is not to say that other elements such as accounting, numbers, operations etc are not important. But to get a business of the ground, you really need these 2 things first.
